In a short while from now, we are going to have a new miss universe for the year 2009. The 58th Miss universe is being held at the Atlantis Paradise Island , in Nassau at the Bahamas and the result will be out at 23rd August 2009, i.e. just a few hours from now.
The major contenders of the contest are Miss USA, Miss Venezuela, and Miss India. However, it is hard to say as who will be the final winner. As of now, the only winner announced has been for the best National Costume, which was won by Miss Panama, Diana Broce.
Meanwhile, this miss universe contest too, like every beauty contest, had its share of controversies. The major one being Bolivia and other countries protesting against Miss Peru using a costume from Andean dance Diablada as the outfit in the national costume section of the pageant.
All said and done, now the world anxiously waits to see who comes out as the winner of Miss Universe 2009 contest. All popular National and International TV channels are telecasting the event live. So do keep at a check at your local telecasters.
